Shipping provides a huge and essential contribution to the world economy with around 50,000 merchant ships trading internationally and manned by over a million seafarers of virtually every nationality.


There are many exciting opportunities for individuals to spend from a few years at sea to those looking for a life-long career in the Merchant Navy. A career at sea provides an exciting and challenging opportunity for school leavers and graduates seeking a varied and rewarding life. There are various organisations and training institutes which specialise in the recruitment and training of new entrant deck and engineer officer cadets.
There are various ways of entry one is DG aprroved courses and other is non-DG approved(Company specific training)
